Is there a way to read SMTP errors with PHP when i send a mailinglist (with the text file)???
I need to catch errors (delivery status....domain not found...etc...) and write them in a db!
Any ideas or solution is accepted :D

Hi, Hyunklel

You can probably find scripts on the web or create your own. The easiest option is the option "remove dead emails" in IceWarp server (mailing list), which removes destinations that receive a 5xx error (notice that it only removes the emails the next time you send again).

There are also sharewares that treak bounce back messages and create statistics. Some examples:

Vignetti is expensive but seems to be good: http://www.vignette.com/portal/site/us/menuitem.62215d74e262b2ba32189210180141a0/?vgnextoid=406495338521b010VgnVCM1000005610140aRCRD&vgnextchannel=6478bc7ee19d7010VgnVCM1000008110140aRCRD&vgnextfmt=default&vgnext-selected-menuitem=4b09bdd80b8ff1e8fb3d8010180141a0&gbl-vcmartguid=406495338521b010VgnVCM1000005610140aRCRD

Do a search in Google for email checker, you will see many options. Some verify a list of addresses.

Examples

http://www.maxprog.com/products/eMailVerifier_setup.exe
http://www.massmailsoftware.com/d/load.php?id=amv
http://www.glocksoft.com/amlv/
http://www.jocsoft.com/jec/

Others analyse bounce backs received directly in the account, such as: http://www.maxprog.com/products/eMailBounceHandler_setup.exe

However, I learned many dont deal well with Greylisting and consider account inexistant.

Also do a search for php + verify email or so.

http://www.sitepoint.com/article/users-email-address-php/

Maybe we can add feature request so IceWarp can add some more features regarding this, maybe using such PHP libraries.

Hope it helps.

regards,
Marcio

Hi,

My pleasure. Well, that option to automate it doesnt exist unless you program it yourself or you can use Merak's Remove dead emails options, it has an option to add those to a DB if Im not forgotten (I think there are details in f1 help), but its a bit primitive, if fatal error, it removes the "dead email". Or you can use some more full blown mass mail solution like Mailman associated with IceWarp server...

regards,
Marcio
