Anyone? We are looking for some thoughts before testing it out. There isn't anything within the help file either. _________________ - Nick Back to top Alpha1Tec Joined: 28 Mar 2007 Posts: 143 Location: Bristol UK ISP Posted: Sat Mar 29, 2008 10:46 am Post subject: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi, Anti-Spam Live is a new anti spam filter option using CommTouch, you will however require a license to use use it which should be available at release of 9.2. It will be a separate purchase but they should be able to supply a 30 day trial upon request so that you can evaluate and decide if it's worth it. The pricing is to be specified yet. Also, since upgrading from 9.1.1 to 9.2 my server seems to be accessing http://208.50.223.240/SpamResolverNG/SpamResolverNG.dll? HTTP/1.1" every 30 seconds References to SpamResolverNG appear to be in commtouch\asapsdk.dll and this file plus commtouch\ctasd.exe are loaded into memory when icewarp starts. I have been following it closely to see if we should purchase it for the other servers. The results are not at all impressive... this server acts as a backup MX only and is flooded with spam mails. According to Merak statistics, Anti-Spam Live only took 1.34% (for comparison our custom content filters took 21.06% alone). _________________ SecSol Security Solutions Please visit us @ http://www.secsol.dk Back to top Alpha1Tec Joined: 28 Mar 2007 Posts: 143 Location: Bristol UK ISP Posted: Sun Apr 20, 2008 6:21 pm Post subject: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi, We have been testing the new Anti-Spam Live so far all spam has been caught with the usual settings, so there was never going to be much work for the Anti-spam Live. We only considered it to provide an additional layer of protection, at the moment the jurys still out. More important is the fact there appears to be an issue with the latest version 9.2.1 when Anti-Spam Live is activated it appears to be causing duplicate ghost *.tmp.tmp files in temporary folder Merak\Temp. We have found so far these temporary ghost files are only created when messages in anti-spam log are flagged by Live=N, so far. Messages are still delivered the only way to clear these temporary files is to restart all services. The ghost files that continue to build up in the cache all have Live report added to message header, while the same duplicate messages that get delivered do not have the Live message header? Example Live message header: X-CTCH: RefID="str=0001.0A0B0203.480A5924.00A7,ss=1,fgs=0"; Spam: "Unknown"; VOD: "Unknown" We were hoping to see the Anti-Spam Live Reason Codes added to header as well as per the manual description which also appears in the anti-spam logs, for example "live=N"? Does anyone know how to decode the X-CTCH: RefID="str=0001.0A0B0203.480A5924.00A7,ss=1,fgs=0"; Spam: "Unknown"; VOD: "Unknown"? Has anyone been able to produce a fix for the Anti-spam live feed to work without causing the ghost duplicate files to build up in the queue temporary cache and deliver the messages with the correct message header information? How did the official production version 9.2.1 have newer files than the Beta overnight releases? It seems to appear that 9.2.1 was never beta tested? So I cannot use it. What do I need to do to enable it?
