To IceWarp and others

We have recently upgraded to the newest stable version 9.3.2 but now the problems starts to emerge.
Our users can't use the "auto responder" option when the log on to our webmail?
When they enters a message, select a period and how the responder should work, it gets "cleared" when the press the submit button.???

Any1 else have this issue?
It's kind of annoying, because they now call us to change their auto responder which can bee changed through the admin web interface or the GUI.

Hi, Tim

Autoresponder is working fine for us in WebMail Pro (or are you using the old webmail?) and Afaik theres no way to restrict it as Admin, so it should be working. If youre using Linux version, see the tip I sent you in other post. If not, I suggest you check with support, as I tested just now and works just fine in a fresh install of 9.3.2. Other then that, Id check permissions as explain in my other post and try with a fresh install.

The other thing that could be happening... Nowaways, IceWarp saves autoresponder as I explained in other post, inside merak/mail/domain/account/responder.dat.

In the past, you could specify the filename of the autoresponder yourself. I did a test regarding that. Setup an autoresponder for a user like test.txt... Then upgraded from older version to 9.3.2. It seems Merak automatically renames the autoresponder file to responder.dat... I tested it via Webmail pro and once again it worked just fine, updated responder.dat...

regards,
Marcio

we recently enabled a more strict password policy, and started getting complaints from customers about not being able to turn off the auto-responder. It turned out that if customers were using a password that violated the policy, any changes they would make via webmail for instance would not be committed by the software. Once uses updated to a compliant password the problem disappeared. I don't know if this helps, but it solved our problems

Hi, Choiland

Hmmm. I just did a test on 9.3.2 and what you said seems to be true. We have a pass policy set. I logged in with a user who is out of the pass policy. Tried to set auto responder via webmail pro. After I save and go back, I see it is not saved. I disable pass policy on the server, do the procedure again, then it is saved.

Probably it updates this somehwo via API and cant save it because the user is out of the pass policy (as happens when you run tool, I even sent a suggestion about it, because I always have to disable pass policy before running tool or else many accounts are not saved - this could maybe be automatic somehow).

So I suggest you send this as a bug report to support...

Regards,
Marcio
