Hi,

In webmail, we use the 'contacts' folder(3 users use them).  We do not use global 'contact' lists therefore don't see the benefits of liscencing the module.

When I open a contact and try to save a phone number, I go back to that particular contact; no post.  Same goes while trying to schedule 'repeats' and 'send invitations' in the calendar.  What's weird is that I can add contacts and calendar items with no problem, some fields just don't want to post.

My question:  is this a liscencing thing or has anyone been experiencing the same type of situation?

Thanks in advance,

Dan

Hi, Dan

For sure you can save a phone number, send an invitation, add recurrent events, etc. Just tested on a fresh trial version install. Only thing you dont get without a license is sharing (includes global address books, etc).

Try to temporarily switch your Groupware database to a blank/new one, its probably source of the problem and also check with support.

Marcio

Checked with support.

I was running an Access version of the database.  They told me to migrate to another supported database format.  Tried an SQLite database migration and everything seems to be alright.

The reason I was having problems according to the support person is that Icewarp is 'moving away from the mdb format, as it is sluggish and bulky compared to others(SQLite, MYSQL...etc)', so I assume testing on some parts of the fields may not have been performed.

Marcio,

Just out of curiosity, the tests you performed were in what DB format?

Best regards,

Dan

Hi, Dmichaud

Great to know you solved it. It works with Access also Im certain, however it really is not the best option and not recommended due to performance issues, etc (MDB starts growing and can cause problems). Probably your DB was corrupted or so. IceWarp used to be IceWarp's default database, now the default is SQLite.

I did my tests with SQLite, but I personally use in one of my boxes SQL and MySQL.

regards,
Marcio
