I posted this to the Content Filtering forum, but no one seems to use that one. Reposting here...

To deal with an Outlook IMAP bug, I'd like to delete all read receipts coming into Merak from a specific set of IPs. I set up the following, but it's not deleting the message. Setting it to "Reject" instead of "Delete" confirms the rule works. Any ideas?

Merak 8.9.1 on Windows 2000 SP4.

<CONTENTFILTER>

Howdy,

What bug would that be? Instead of 10.0.x.x, you should just put 10.0 (it's contains strings).

Would need the message source, if possible post it here or I would suggest you open a support ticket. Remember content filters execute from top to bottom and if there's a stop filter processing action and another filter more to the top is satisfied, the filters below it don't run, so also try to put the filter up to the top.

regards,
Marcio

Marcio,

Thanks for the response.

See the following for more information about the Outlook 2007 IMAP bug:
http://forums.microsoft.com/msdn/showpost.aspx?siteid=1&postid=2605879

The ".x.x" part in "10.0.x.x" was masking an actual IP address. You can just assume that was "10.0.10.10". I am testing this with a single computer before applying it to multiple ones.

Attached is an example message that matches the filter conditions.

As for the order of the filters, if I set the filter to "Reject", I get a 554 rejection from Merak with the above message. If I set it to "Delete", the message is accepted and NOT deleted (whether internal -> internal or internal -> external).
