Hi.

Our anti-spam died this week. Tried backup and all, but no.
So, dropped all tables and created new ones, all back up. Perfect.

Looked at the old backuptables and found several items from 1899 with timestamp 00:00 with no sender and no owner.

I then checked the new tables that are working and find the same in thoose. And at first it was only one, now it is five.
It seems that it is parts of other messages classified as spam and placed in the quarantine, but that something gets messed up somewhere.

I can't do anything with them, not even delete them.

Anyone have a clue what it is and how to fix it?

Mikael

Hi,

stop the SMTP service in Mail server administration --->System--->Services;
go to the file system on your server - merak\mail\_incoming and  there you'll see the problem files. Now now you can manually delete them (first you can inspect them via any txt editor - Notepad++, Ultraeditor or similar, or even Notepad).

beware that your SMTP service can automatically restart if you seti it up in that way so it is possible that you could not delete files until you stop the service or disable it for time needed to delete files.

Hi, guys

Vigor, \mail\_incoming will only be present if he is using MDA, or else the incoming folder is \temp. However, I believe the quarantine msgs are in merak\mail\user\~spam\quarantine or something like that.

Ive seen such msgs in my system also with old date, the only way I was able to delete them was with a query in the database to remove them.

regards,
Marcio
