Hi,

We need to move our current mail server to a new host, this is causing some problems.

We are moving from Mysql 4.0 to MS SQL 2008 on Windows server 2008, We have moved the all the data from server A to B and all users have been migrated via the build in tool database migration. Groupware had to be manually exported/imported for all domains as the database tool gets errors moving the data to the new server. The as is....users can login but the webmail system hang in the login process, if we delete all user mails they login fine. if we copy about 10 mails over to the users inbox and login it works, but more than that it hangs.

We were allso woundering if it was possible to just convert to file system, backup the conf. then restore it on the new server and convert to database ?

Hi,

It shouldnt be a problem. Its relatively easy to move IceWarp from one box to the other. Just restore your MCB on another machine, regenerate your license, copy your mail folder manually.

The databases all you have to do is dump them and import them on the new machine. Sure you can do what you said regarding account storage, move to file system and then on the new server move to DB. But Groupware and Antispam require a DB. The default SQLite is already backed up in your system backup, others like mysql you have to backup/restore manually.

Other issues would have to be analysed closely, but Ive done this many times with no problems, maybe contact support for some help.

regards,
Marcio
