I have several different email domains I want to keep seperate (personal, product A support, Product B Support, Consulting) and I prefer using webmail for its ubiquitousness.

For each domain, I have to have a seperate return address and signature - like Thunderbird allows me to do.

Any way I can accomplish this in Merak/Icewarp Webmail?

Hi Kogo,

Yes, there are many many ways to do this. Here is how we did it with several domains.

Set up primarydomain.com as a 'standard domain'
Set up domainA.com as an alias domain pointing to primarydomain.com
Set up domainB.com as an Alias Domain pointing to primarydoman.com

At this point, all incoming email for domainA.com and domainB.com are routing to primarydomain.com, user1 for any domain will end up in the user1 mailbox under primarydomain.com. That's how domain aliases work.

So, if you want to set up an account to handle support for all domains, set up an account under primarydomain.com called 'support'

All email for support@primarydomain.com, support@domainA.com and support@domainB.com will end up in the support account set up under primarydomain.com. On the actual server this will be here: C:\Program Files\Merak\mail\primarydomain.com\support\

Now log into webmail under support@primarydomain.com
Create two new folders called
support@domainA.com and support@domainB.com (this is where you're store your email for each individual domain)

Now create routing rules that will put the emails in the appropriate folder:

In webmail go to Tools > Rules and add two rules
1.
Condition: where "To:" > Contains > support@domainA.com
Action: checkbox "Move to" folder support@domainA.com

do the same for support@domainB.com

This will put email for:
support@primarydomain.com in the inbox
support@domainA.com in the support@domainA.com inbox
and
support@domainB.com in the support@domainB.com inbox

Now you need to be able to email 'as' thos domains.

To do this got to Tools > Options > Mail Tab > Personalities Tab

Personaly, I don't think 'Personalities' is a good name for this but I wont digress

add

"domainA Support" support@domainA.com
and
"domainB Support" support@domainB.com

You'll also need to right click on each folder and check 'synchronize' so that you will have an accurate count of new emails, etc.

When you need to send an email as support@domainA.com or support@domainB.com, simple create a new email, then click on 'options' and select one of the aliases you created.

I hope you find this helpful.

Cheers,
Patrick

Hi all;

But how to define a seperate return address and signature for each personality?

The Personalities in WebMail pro have no other attributes . (in the current Version 9.3.1)

Best regards.

Hi, Sameer

Seems this is not possible. You could add a feature request on this forum. You want to add a personality and automate associate a signature to it, right?

You could make some type of content filter, when the FROM address is XXX, and msg is outgoing and user has authenticated, add a footer to the msg with his signature, but of course its time consuming and not a good idea in terms of managing (users will change signature and have to send you updated file, etc).

Also, afaik if you set personality to use a specific FROM, if someone replies it goes back to that defined FROM, no?

regards,
Marcio
