I have a client who has an AOL mailbox. Since AOL does not allow forwarding, we would like to have Merak connect to the server via IMAP, grab new messages and forward them to their account hosted with us.

I have set up a remote account with:
server: imap.aol.com
protocol: imap4
username: username without @aol.com
password: account password
TSL/SSL: direct

It doesn't seem to work. Am I doing anything wrong? Is there a way to remote connect to the AOL servers and retrieve new messages sent to that account on a 10 minute interval?

Thanks,

B

No, I set this up in the admin interface. We don't use the webmail component.

Hi, Benjamin

Setup seems correct, I use this type of cenario with some customers. Remote accounts that download mail from a remote account and forward it to a Merak local account.

Did you set the Forward to field to forward the msgs to a local account in your Merak? The account in AOL is IMAP for sure, not POP?

You can check the IMAP logs and try to simulate downloading mail via telnet on the server to figure out why its not working.

Also I recommend you increase IMAP out in System/Services/IMAP from 1 to 5 or so (simulatenous OUT connections).

regards,
Marcio
