Hi, Frank We use this feature for something interesting, to keep checking if a page changes. So we check to see if a page that lists our RDNS or blacklists we are on changes. http://postmaster.aol.com/cgi-bin/dns_tool.pl?search=your-ip (for RDNS) http://www.moensted.dk/spam/?addr=yourhost.com&Submit=Submit (for Blacklists) In bottom part we type URL and in download to file we specify an HTML file. So it alerts us via email when the pages change. Now you want to monitor to see if a specific service online, theres an example of monitoring FTP in f1 help. its simple, you just put the host and port, thats it. There is a Check now button, but Ive already suggested to IceWarp, if you click on it, for IceWarp to popup something informing the result of the monitored item. Right now, it is logged in Control log. Here's an example after I pressed Check now button: SYSTEM [05F4] 10:38:50 Remote Server Watchdog - checking host 64.xx.xx.xx, port 25 But unfortunately using the Remote server watchdog I didnt have success to simply monitor some IP on port 25. All I can see is control log saying it is checking. But the check itself does not appear in SMTP logs. It appears however in the remote port 25 of the server Im monitoring, as such: x.x.x.x [12E4] 11:01:55 Connected x.x.x.x [12E4] 11:01:55 >>> 220 xxx.xxx ESMTP IceWarp 9.3.2; Fri, 31 Oct 2008 11:01:55 -0200 x.x.x.x [12E4] 11:01:55 *** <> <> 0 0 00:00:00 INCOMPLETE-SESSION x.x.x.x [12E4] 11:01:55 Disconnected Strangely, however, I put SMTP down and all I see is control log informing it checked port 25... But I didnt get any email informing its down. Strange. I set up just Server (with IP), port (25), report address my email, alert if down for more than 1 min. I know it works nicely to see if a page changed. Do you have same results or does it work for you? If you can open a support ticket. Please keep us posted. BTW, a very nice tool to monitor round trip email (shareware): http://www.brothersoft.com/bekarts-mail.s-happy-129619.html regards, Marcio
