Hi.

I get this error sent to me, but nothing else.

Everything else seems to work fine.

Is there a way to find out what error Merak encounters?
This started with 9.3.1 and is still in 9.3.2

Hi, Mikael

Which error? Warning mail archive backup problem? Where, in control log or you get that via email? Check your setting in Mail service/archive (such as path).

The emails are being backed up? Your receive this mail how often...?

I recieve this email once a day. Delivered to the administrator@ account. This is exactly what I get.

Warning: Mail archive backup problem

that's it..... nothing else. No logs no indication on how to fix it. Nothing

Hi.

I have checked it. The path is correct and settings are backed up, and so is all mail.

But I still get the same error in the same way as mfac does.

I have started to loose mail, though! The server receives the mail, classifies it as spam and then it's gone! I have looked for it everywhere, but it is gone. Not good...
Don't know if this has anything to do with this error, but I am somewhat afraid of this, we have a lot of users and if this is a big problem, that's NOT good!

By the way, could this be related to the problem that I get parts of mails in quarantine that is dated 1899-12-31 that I can not delete?

Hi, guys

I dont think its related to whitelist 1889 date issue nor about deleting messages, its a different issue Imho.

Whats in the antispam logs, SMTP logs, etc? I saw this happen to a customer of ours once, but regading his System backup. His Control logs showed exactly what file wasnt being backed up. Strangely, although it informed a few files werent backed up, they were inside the MCB (I checked with IDP View, in free downloads on IceWarp's site).

So I would check these places and also contact support about this issue. Are the messages being backed up or at least some? How often do you get the message, every day and just one message? Because mail archive is running "Live", so I wonder why it would warn you just once. Maybe its doing something late nite, like zipping deleted messages (an option inside Mail archive)?

I agree the error should be clearer. Are you running Merak under local system or under some specific user? Does he have rights on the backup destination folder? Remember, if youre backing up to a remote drive (UNC), you have to run Merak under an admin account with same pwd in both machines.

Try to change the path of the backups and enable just the option to mail archive, without any additional options.
