Hi, Carlos

Are you sure it didnt go into Hotmails junk folder?

Hotmail is the worse system ever (along with Yahoo) when it comes to receiving emails.

Notice that their server says the email was received!

65.54.244.8 [00001A68] Tue, 14 Oct 2008 21:24:25 -0500 Client session <<< 250 Mail queued for delivery.

The fact is, Hotmail DELETES MESSAGES after they were received (as you can do in Merak in antispam if you set it to delete msgs with high score). If you email them, they will send you a big questionarie with dozens of questions, including asking you to join some Microsoft antispam service, adding SPF, etc.

You can try to contact Hotmail about it, send them the logs, the original message that was sent.

Check out: http://postmaster.live.com/

See the last post on this page: http://success.grownupgeek.com/index.php/2007/10/09/550-your-e-mail-was-rejected/

So besides adding SPF and trying to contact them, the best option IMHO is to use IceWarp's great ROUTING feature inside SMTP. This way you can reroute all emails to @hotmail.com via some other SMTP server that can deliver it to them. Its the easiest way out.

regards,
Marcio

Hi Marcio

I've been looking into setting up the routing function and I don't understand it at all (I've read the help file and Googled it as well) - can you give a brief explanation, for dummies like me, of how to set it up.  All I want is for mail from any of my domains to reroute through another SMTP server if the message is sent to "hotmail".

Chris...

Hi, Chris

Sure. Check here: http://esupport.icewarp.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=496

Basically go to Mail Service/SMTP Service/Routing, click on Edit file and copy this:

hotmail.com=%%alias%%@hotmail.com;4;relay.isp.com

Change relay.isp.com with the IP of the SMTP you will use to route msgs to Hotmail.

The above setting will work only if your outgoing IP is set as an IP that can relay at the server relay.isp.com. If not, you can use the syntax that uses SMTP Authentication (see FAQ).

Note the #4 in above syntax, if you double click on the rule you created you will see it refers to the checkbox Sender must be authentication and this should be ON (marked), or else anyone can relay to the destination you defined (hotmail.com).

Hope it helps.

regards,
Marcio
