My freshly installed server keeps atempting to make smtp connections to server.icewarp.com. Can someone tell me why?

New installations (and upgrades I think) sends some information to Icewarp. As I recall the file contains your server id or ref # and maybe one or two other items.

When you just installed the software it will send an email to icewarp about the installation - this is purely for statistics as far as I know.
Does it actually deliever the message over and over or does it just keep trying to connect over and over?

Is there a box to prevent that ... i have blocked all comunications with server.icewarp.com it the gateway.
I never agreed to allow comunication between my server and icewarp.

I have never seen anything you can do during setup to prevent it from sending the information - I am very sure this is mentioned in their EULA however - did you read it carefully?

I venture to say there is likely some mention in the licensing agreement that is acknowledged to install the software.

Yes, its mentioned in the EULA. Nothing for you to worry about it just sends some mail informing you installed the SW, etc. Maybe you could make some filter or something but I wouldnt worry about it.

EULA .. hmmm ya like anyone reads those.

I Filtered out Outbound SMTP to that ip space, i have no idea what is being sent out ... i will hook up wireshark and find out though.

Well, being mentioned in EULA just shows that IW is serious about it and documents it clearly.

All it does is send out a message informing your IW server was installed and I believe the data you fill out upon install (your name, country, etc).
