I notice that there is a few spamlists ie spamcop that discourage the use of challenge response,
with some legit arguments, like they reckon we want to fight spam, not making inconvenience them.
and also claim that your server can be listed because of challenge response being clasified as spam.
What do you think of that, should one turn of challenge response or not ?

Hi,

Turn it off. I had a lot of discussion about this with IceWarp support, trying to figure a way to avoid problems. I had few of my customers on Spamcop due to this. It ends up the conclusion was a feature request to possibly in the future consider the "sacrifical lamb" feature, when you could challenge emails via other IP, so if youre blacklisted, wouldnt cause so much damage. But Challenge response has never been encouraged by icewarp, they say you can enable it for some time, afterwords disable it. Its a major cause of backscaterring. I trie dto think of ways that it could avoid such problems, but its really complicated. You can use quarantine (if you use score 0 all messages are quarantined) without challenge.
